Dr Phillip Tseng
Dr Phillip is the Anaesthesiologist for Monash IVF Singapore. He is a practicing anaesthetist with Anaesthietic Associates Singapore at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
Specialties:
Anaesthesiology, Anaesthesia for neurosurgical procedures, neuromuscular block monitoring, anaesthesia for the morbidly obese, and anaesthesia for medical missions in China, Pakistan, and Southeast Asia region.
Experience:
Dr Tseng joins Monash IVF Singapore with more than 30 years of Anaesthesiology experience. He has been practising in the private sector at Mount Elizabeth Hospital since 1997 after leaving Singapore General Hospital. He has a fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia from the University Hospital, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada and continues to provide anaesthesia for neurosurgical procedures. Dr Tseng is also an accredited intensive care specialist since 2012, and currently an instructor for the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course, which is run by the Institute of Medical Simulation, Singhealth Duke/NUS Academic Medical Centre in Singapore.
Awards & Recognition:
Participation in international conferences and lecturer series is important to Dr Tseng. His most recent lecture was at the Singapore Anaesthesia Refresher Course organized by the Anaesthesia Society of Singapore held in August 2021. He has spoken on anaesthesia for medical missions at the first International Conference on Humanitarian Medical Missions held in Singapore in 2014. Dr Tseng is keenly interested in improving safety and standards in anaesthesia and has a special interest in neuromuscular block monitoring, having lectured on the topic in the last few years.
As a member of the Academy of Medicine and the Ministry of Health taskforce in 2014 that he was involved in publishing the clinical guidelines for non anaesthetists providing sedation in stand- alone ambulatory centres and clinics that was sanctioned by the Academy of Medicine. Dr Tseng was also part of the committee that came up with the guidelines for non anaesthetists providing sedation for endoscopic procedures in the hospital setting that was published in the Annals of Academy in 2022.
